Samantha's poncho was like that the whole time
Disneyland was the original plan for Nate's big 3-4, but we thought since the weather was awful we had second thoughts. Splash Cafe in Pismo was an option as well as movies and bowling here in town. Plus the forecast said we might even see snow in Bakersfield. After about 30 minutes of deciding we thought lets just stick with our original plan and head down south to Disneyland. Nate's exact words when we finally came to a plan were "Let's go on an Adventure" and that is exactly what he got. I will not bore you all with the details but just break it down for you...
Rain
Snow
Stopped in Gorman to play in the Snow
Went back to Gorman to find Nate's Phone
After 30 minutes of digging in Snow no luck.
Stop in Valencia for 2 new Cell Phones ( I have not seen my phone since October).
Lots of Rain
3:30 Arrive at Disneyland, note we left at 10:30
California Adventures for 3 rides
Disneyland for Hot Chocolate, 1 ride, and a phone call from my Dad telling me that I5 is shut and we should start home.
In-N-Out at Lyons Exit in Santa Clarita and crossing our figures that they will let us through
Make it to about Castaic( a hour from home) and had to turn around
126 to the 101 north
Saw the Ocean
Passed Splash Cafe
Paso Robles to the 46 east and we are finally almost home
46 to I5 open and clear and I have never been so happy to see the sign
Bakersfield.
2:20am we pull into our driveway
So basically we could have either driven to Salt Lake City but Nathan's Birthday wish came true
he got his "Adventure"

Playing in the Snow, Disneyland, In & Out!! My three favorite things! I am jealous! What a great wife and mom you are! And what a fun adventure! Tell Nathan Happy Birthday for me! JOY
I am scared it is going to be like this for us when we pass through tomorrow night... we are starting to plan alternate routes. But we won't cancel our plans to see you guys. We are too excited.
A birthday none of you will ever forget. Did Nathan get another iPhone?
What a positive attitude you have!!! That sounds like how MY plans usually turn out. Happy 3-4 to Nate.
Amy, yes he did and so did I. :)
That is definitely an adventure! Good times!
